Happy Friday! The USWNT will take on Canada in the finals of the CONCACAF Women's Championship. An automatic spot at the Olympics is on the line. Earlier in the week England beat Norway 8-0 and now english fans think it's coming home.

AFCON (July 2-July 23)
Zambia, Morocco, Nigeria and South Africa all qualified for the 2023 World Cup! The four teams still have all to play for in the semi-finals as they look to win the Africa Cup of Nations.
Zambia defeated Senegal 4-2 on penalties after the game ended in a 1-1 tie. Zambia goal keeper, Hazel Nali scored the winning PK.This is the first time that Zambia has qualified for the World Cup.
Morocco beat Botswana 2-1 to advance to the Semi-finals and 2023 World Cup. This is the first time Morocco has qualified for the World Cup.
Nigeria defeated Cameroon 1-0. Nigeria scored in the 56' minute and it was their only shot on target the entire game. Nigeria has now qualified for the world cup nine straight times.
South Africa beat Tunisia 1-0, scoring in the 14' minute. This is the second time South Africa has qualified for the World Cup.
Semi-Finals matchups: Both games are being played on Monday

CONCACAF Championship (July 4- July 18)
The finals are set! The United States and Canada will face off in the CONCACAF finals on Monday at 10 PM EST. Costa Rica and Jamaica will play for third place at 7 PM EST on Monday.
The winner of the finals will automatically qualify for the Olympics. The third place game is also important as the winner will earn a spot in the intra-confederation Olympic playoffs.
The United States beat Costa Rica 3-0 in the semi-finals. Goals came from Emily Sonnett, Mallory Pugh, and Ashley Sanchez. It was Sonnett's first USWNT goal.
Canada beat Jamaica 3-0 to advance to the finals. Fleming, Chapman, and Leon scored their goals.

The league is adding VAR in 2023.
In August 2022, the league will invest the necessary resources to upgrade the quality of games shown on Paramount+ and Twitch.
The league office is being relocated to New York and will open its offices in September of 2022.
The league will be working with Sports, media, and entertainment investment firm Inner Circle Sports. They will represent and advise the league on expansion as the league looks to expand to 14 teams in 2024.
