AFCON (July 2-July 23)

Morocco and South Africa will face off in the finals of this year's Africa Cup of Nations. The game will be played July 23 at 4 PM EST. Nigeria and Zambia will play each other in the 3rd place game. That match will be played on July 22 at 4 PM EST.

South Africa defeated Zambia 1-0 in the semi-final game. South Africa was able to pull out the win in the 90+4' minute by converting a PK.

Morocco and Nigeria went to PKs after the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Morocco was able to win 5-4 on penalties. Rosella Ayane who plays for Tottenham scored the winning PK. The best part was she had no idea it was the winning shot.

CONCACAF Championship (July 4- July 18)

The USWNT are CONCACAF champions! This is the ninth time that they have won the tournament. The win also means they are headed to the 2024 Olympics in Paris!

The United States had chance after chance all game long to score but just weren't able to convert until the 78' minute. Rose Lavelle drew a penalty and then Alex Morgan stepped up and converted from the spot. It wasn't the best the United States have ever looked in a tournament but they were still able to get the job done. Now the focus turns to preparing for the 2023 World Cup.

Jamaica defeated Costa Rica 1-0 in extra time of the 3rd place game. Kalyssa van Zanten scored in the 102' minute after Drew Spence played her a brilliant ball. Jamaica will now face Canada in a playoff series to see who will get the last CONCACAF 2024 Olympic spot.
