HAO is Back!!
Happy Friday! Heather O'Reilly came out of retirement to play in the Champions League. Yesterday she scored the game winning goal in a Champions League match. There was a lot of women's soccer this week and the good news is there's even more this weekend.

The Houston Dash beat Gotham FC 2-1 on Wednesday. Gotham played better than they have all season but couldn't get a result after going down to 10 players. Midge Purce got her second yellow of the night in the 58' minute. Houston then scored two goals in three minutes. Ebony Salmon scored in the 73' minute followed by a Marisa Viggiano goal in the 76' minute. Gotham was able to pull a goal back in the 80' minute. Kristie Mewis delivered a perfect ball off a free kick that Zerboni was able to convert. Even though it was a loss there are a lot of positives for Gotham to take away.
Ebony Salmon now has 7 goals in 7 games with Houston!! It's still hard to believe that she only played 75 minutes with Racing Louisville during the first half of the season. She's now fourth in the Golden Boot race and only 4 goals behind the leaders.
Aly Watt has been traded to the Orlando Pride. In exchange, OL Reign received $125,000 in allocation money.
The Orlando Pride have also acquired defender Haley Hanson from the Houston Dash. In Exchange, the pride have traded $75,000 in Allocation Money and a 2023 NWSL second round draft pick.
Gotham FC have traded defender Caprice Dydasco to the Houston Dash for $120,000 in base allocation money. The deal has the potential to be worth up to $150,000 for Gotham. Gotham will earn another $10,000 for each postseason game Dydasco plays in for Houston.

The Women's Cup
Tokyo got 5th place in this year's women's cup. They beat Tottenham 2-1. Riko Ueki scored in the 19' minute to put Tokyo up 1-0. Tottenham was able to equalize in the 55' minute thanks to Rosella Ayane. Azusa Iwashimizu won it for Tokyo in the 81' minute.
OL Reign beat Club América 2-1 in the semi-finals. Club América struck first in the 60' minute with a Kiana Palacios goal. OL Reign scored both of their goals in a four minute span. Tziarra King scored a banger in the 78' minute followed by a goal from Olivia Van Der Jagt in the 81' minute.
Racing Louisville beat AC Milan 2-0 to advance to the finals. Nadia Nadim scored in the 13' minute to give Louisville the lead. Wang Shuang scored a fantastic volley to give Louisville a 2-0 lead. Her volley was set up by really good footwork from Jess McDonald.
It will be an NWSL final on Saturday. Racing Louisville will take on OL Reign in the Women's Cup Final. The game will be played at 7 PM ET and can be seen on Paramount+.
Club América will play AC Milan in the 3rd place game on Saturday at 4 PM ET and can be seen on Paramount+.
Women's International Champions Cup
Lyon and Monterrey will face off in the finals of this years WICC. The Portland Thorns will play Chelsea in the 3rd place game.
Chelsea and Lyon tied 2-2 but Lyon went on to win in PKs. Chelsea was up 2-0 before Lyon came back to tie the game. Sam Kerr got the scoring started in the 7' minute with an impressive chip. Lauren James then scored a fantastic goal in the 55' minute. Lyon pulled off the late comeback by scoring in the 76' & 88' minute. Lindsey Horan scored off a free kick and then Signe Bruun tied the game up. Lyon won 4-3 on PKs.
The Portland Thorns and Monterrey ended in a 1-1 tie. Monterrey was able to win the PK shootout to advance to the finals. Marissa Everett opened up the scoring for Portland in the 5' minute. Monterrey came back to tie the game when Diana García scored in the 68' minute. Monterrey won the PK shootout 3-2.
AMOS Women's French Cup
Bayern Munich, Barcelona, PSG, and Manchester United are all playing in the AMOS Women's French Cup.
Bayern Munich defeated Barcelona 2-1 in the opening game. Bayern struck first in the 40' minute. Sarah Zadrazil played a perfect ball to Lea Shüller who then squared it to Giulia Gwinn for the goal. In the 59' minute Caroline Graham Hansen Scored a rocket to bring the game back level. Emelyne Laurent was the hero for Bayern in the 84' minute.
Manchester United was able to beat PSG 1-0 in the other game. Katie Zelem had a nice outside of the foot goal in the 66' minute. Her goal would be enough to beat PSG despite PSG having several good chances throughout the game.
Barcelona and PSG will play in the third place game at 12 PM ET today.
Bayern Munich and Manchester United will play in the final at 3 PM ET today.
