FAWSL Chaos

There were five FAWSL games over the weekend and 21 goals were scored across those games.

Manchester City beat Reading 3-0 but it was an odd one. Emma Mitchell scored two own goals to give City a 2-0 lead. Bunny Shaw eventually scored in the 76' minute to give City the 3-0 win.

Arsenal continues their dominate start to the season beating Leicester City 4-0. Maanum, Foord, Catley, and Blackstenius all got on the score sheet.

The West Ham vs Brighton game has to be the wildest game of the season so far. The game ended with Brighton winning 5-4 but it was a roller coaster game. West Ham went up 1-0 in the 3' minute. Brighton would go on to score in the 8', 11', and 20' minute. West Ham would pull one back thanks to a Brighton own goal in the 59' minute. Brighton would then score in the 68' and 71' minute to go up 5-2. West Ham weren't done yet though. Asseyi scored in the 85' and 86' minute to make the game 4-5. This was a major win for Brighton who have struggled so far this season.

The last game of the day was a major one for the teams at the top of the table. Manchester United took on Chelsea. Chelsea would win 3-1 and hand United their first loss of the season. Sam Kerr got the scoring started in the 60' minute which put Chelsea up 1-0. Just four minutes later Kerr would assist Lauren James to give Chelsea the 2-0 lead. Alessia Russo pulled one back for United in the 71' minute but Erin Cuthbert would go on to seal it for Chelsea in the 90+2' minute.
